B.Tech Admission Notice-2010

PROCEDURE OF ADMISSION: The candidates from Tripura and other states of India will be admitted to NIT, Agartala on submission of allotment letter from CCB authority, Ministry of Human resource and Development, Government of India duly recommended by All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) .

 

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION

ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY CRITERION:The academic eligibility criteria for admission in NIT, Agartala is same as AIEEE-2010 information Bulletin.

OTHER ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:At present there is no age limit for candidate seeking admission in NIT Agartala ( i.e erstwhile Tripura Engineering College). But they must satisfy the minimum physical standards required for pursuing a technical course and must pass the medical examination to be conducted by the Medical Officer, medical unit of NIT Agartala prior to their admission to the institute.

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

HOW TO APPLY: The candidates must apply in the prescribed numbered application form provided at the end of the prospectus (Annexure-VI and VII) along with all relevant documents within the stipulated last date of submission of application as notified by the institute.
The Prospectus along with the detachable application form can be obtained from the office of the Dean ( Academic),NIT Agartala during office working hours against a Demand Draft of Rs. 300.00 (three hundred) only drawn in favour of “Registrar, NIT Agartala” payble at S.B.I., NIT Agartala Branch. The candidates must fill up the application form in their own hand writing either in blue or black ink. The application form should also be duly signed by the Father/Guardian (if father is not alive) of the candidate at the specified space.
A stamp size photograph of the candidate taken not earlier than three months prior to the date of application should be affixed on the application form in the space provided and three more stamp size photographs should be enclosed along with the completed application forms. Applications which are incomplete, defective, or received after last date are liable to be rejected.

MIGRATION CERTIFICATE: Candidates those passed the Higher Secondary(10+2 Stage) Examination from any other Board/Institution except Tripura Board of Secondary Education will have to produce ‘‘Migration Certificate’’ from that Board/Institute at the time of admission. In case the candidate fails to produce the Migration Certificate at the time of admission, he/she has to produce it within a stipulated period, as otherwise his/her University registration will be pending.

MEDICAL EXAMINATION: The candidates selected for admission will have to undergo medical examination conducted by the Medical Board formed by the institute and satisfy the physical standards. A candidate declared physically unfit will not be admitted.

Note: Medical certificate duly filled by ONLY GOVERNMENT MEDICAL OFFICER will be considered.

DOCUMENTS TO BE DEPOSITED AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION:

A candidate selected for admission will have to submit the following original documents along with two attested photocopy.

i) Detailed mark sheet of qualifying examination H.S. (10+2) or equivalent and two Xerox copies (one attested)
ii) Admit card of Matriculation Examination as proof of age.
iii) Character Certificate from Head of the Institute last attended.
iv) Permanent Resident Certificate (for Tripura Candidates only).
v) Caste/Tribe Certificate in case of SC/ST candidates.
vi) Migration Certificate
vii) Four recent stamp size photographs of the candidate duly attested on the back side.
viii) Study Discontinuation Certificate, if any.
ix) Allotment Letter issued by the Counseling Authority

The Study discontinuation certificate should be obtained from competent authority, either the Head of the Institution where the candidate was pursuing studies or Officer in-charge of nearest Police Station where the candidate resided, for not continuing studies.

The institute will retain the original certificates till the registration of the candidate. The certificates will however be returned to a candidate if he/she declares to discontinue his/her studies in writing.

FINANCIAL REQUIREMENTS: Candidates have to pay the institutional fees as per the following rates for admission to the B.Tech courses in NIT Agartala during 2010-11 session. All financial transaction must be through Bank Draft.

However for the boarders of hostel, fee is given below along with above mentioned fee structure.

1. Hostel Admission fee : Rs.500/- (one time)
2. Mess Advance : Rs.5000/- (one time)
3. Mess Charge/month (tentative) : Rs.8000.00 (actual expenditure basis)
4. Hostel Rent : Rs. 5000/- ( Rupees five thousands) per annum to be paid during registration of 1st Semester (Rs. 2500/) and 2nd semester ( Rs.2500/)..

Candidates will have to deposit the Balance fees in crossed Bank Demand Draft in favour of "Registrar, National Institute of Technology Agartala" payable at S.B.I., NIT Agartala Branch(Code No.11491).

Candidate belongs to the Tripura State have to deposit Rs.2010/- (Rupees two thousand ten) only in cash to the Private Bus Operator on receipt of cash memo as an advance of bus fare of five month for availing private bus service facility.

Students are advised to become the member of professional bodies, such as Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), New Delhi and The Institution of Engineers (India), Agartala Local Center on spot payment of Rs.200/- (Approx.) for upliftment of professional development.
